Leadership Training Academy
The OIAAA Leadership Training Academy in June at Dublin Scioto High School was the most successful so far. Over 60 registrants completed one or more of the seven courses offered.  There were two out of state registrants, one from Atlanta, GA and another from East Chicago, IN.

Course instructors reported a great deal of enthusiasm among the participants and this was reflected in the participant evaluations turned in at the completion of each course. Six new instructors came on board as a result of completing the LT 790 Instructor’s Course.

Plans are already underway for next years June Academy tentatively scheduled for June 23 and 24, 2009.  Keep checking this page for more information...

Six Leadership Training classes will be offered along with the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course at the 2008 Fall Conference. The courses and descripotions are outlined.  Registration deadline is September 10, 2008Go to LTC Fall Conference Course Registration Form.
 
 
Leadership Training Courses offered at the October 5, 2008 Fall Conference...
 
LTC 501 - Philosophy, Organization and Professional Programs (required for CAA)
Description:
 
LTC 502 - Principles, Strategies and Methods (required for CAA)

LTC 504 - Legal Issues I, Risk Management (required for CAA)
Description:
 
LTC 700 - Developing the Middle School Athletic Program
This course is a must for those athletic administrators who are connected with middle school athletic programs. We encourage all middle school A. D’s to register for this course.
 
LTC 714 - Dealing with Angry People
A problem that many athletic administrators face is “the angry person”.  LTC 714 provides some excellent methods for dealing with this problem.
 
LTC 723 - Professional Growth Programs for Interscholastic Personnel
Methods to in-service your coaches.
 
LTC 000 - NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching”
Coaches, A.D.’s and any volunteers who work as a coach are invited to register for this course which will be required of all coaches and A.D.’s starting January 1, 2010. The cost of this course is $55.00.
 
CEU vouchers for each course will be given when requested on the registration form. Remember that LTC 504 is now a 5-hour course and requires 8 participants to be held.

There will be a CAA Exam offered on October 6, If you are interested in Certification – RAA, CAA, CMAA, you must first register with Mrs. Fran Flannery at the NIAAA Office in Indianapolis at 317 587-1450, and Chuck Miley at Dublin Scioto is the CAA Test Coordinator for Ohio. Contact him at 614 717-2468.

Registration deadline is September 10, for the $85.00 per course price. The cost of registrations received between September 11 and September 15, will be $95.00 per course to cover processing and shipping by the NIAAA. No registrations will be accepted after September 15. In order for a class to be held there must be a minimum of 5 prepaid registrations by September 15. The NIAAA Office is experiencing problems with last minute orders of materials and has placed the extra fees for shipping and handling of materials.
